He should always be the most defensively aware forward when he is on the ice and use the most conservative positioning of the three. The top 9 is once again OK on paper, Goodrow isn't a player we get excited about but I doubt he will actively drag his line down as long as he isn't tasted with much of the puck carrying. I truly think that if Puljujaarvi were used appropriately, he could be an asset to someone, similar to the way Vesey is used. Hell, as it is, many are penciling Vesey in to the top-9 as a complimentary winger. If I were to tell you that the Rangers could sign a player who, analytically was very close to Vesey but 5 years younger and slightly larger we would all jump at that opportunity. What I am finding interesting is that Puljujaarvi clearly had a down year last year but still drove possession and scored at the same rate that someone like Vesey did at 5v5.
